BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN SWITZERLAND IN WINTER

Switzerland is magical especially in winter and even if you don't know how to ski like a real pro, there are many places you can visit in Switzerland.

In fact, this enchanting place in the heart of Europe offers you the right mix of sports, nature, relaxation, spa and good food!

The transportation system is really very efficient and promises you to get from one place to another quickly.

Each stop will also give you snowy dreamscapes that you will look forward to gazing out the window to enjoy incredible and jaw-dropping views.

We've wrapped up some of our favorite destinations in Switzerland that you simply cannot miss:

  • Grindelwald
  • Interlaken
  • Zermatt
  • St. Moritz

And last but not least, the Glacier Express train!

The Jungfrau is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its peaks, plus this region is home to the highest train station in Europe.

Grindelwald is a must-see stop on your trip to Switzerland; in particular, we recommend that you do not miss the First Cliff Walk, which leads over a suspension bridge about 40 meters long and gives you a breathtaking view of the town and the peaks around you!

Interlaken is a well-known resort between two lakes, surrounded by dreamy mountain ranges. This town offers you lots of activities such as whitewater rafting, bungee jumping and paragliding but if you prefer something quieter here is what we suggest:

  • Kayak trip on Lake Brienz
  • Spa and thermal baths at the 5-star hotel Victoria Jungfrau

Zermatt is located at the foot of one of the most famous peaks, the Matterhorn; a town that seems to have come out of a fairy tale and that at every hour of the day gives you emotions and... incredible shots!

One of the most incredible experiences you can have is to sleep a night in an igloo, in particular we recommend you look at the Inglu-dorf site where you will find lots of them all over the territory.

One of the most beautiful chalets in the world according to The thelegraph, on the other hand, is Chez Vrony right in Zermatt, and very famous is its traditional restaurant with a view of the Matterhorn.

Very famous St. Moritz, known for its beauty but also for the luxury it offers.

One of the most chic hotels ever is Palazzo Badrutt, an icon of St. Moritz since 1896.

The same hotel also boasts of the most famous spa in the place, truly ideal for relaxing!

Don't miss the Glacier Express that takes you from Zermatt to St. Moritz.

Also known as the " world's slowest express train," the Glacier Express has huge panoramic windows to let you never lose sight of the snowy fairytale landscape around you.

You will pass through The Rhine Gorge, Know as the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland," and the Oberalp Pass, and meanwhile enjoy a 5-course meal accompanied by wine or champagne if you travel in the luxurious first class.

Save and share this incredible guide to Switzerland for this coming winter escape or even use for planning in the Summer, which is equally as incredible and promises to not disappoint!
